Celestion Red Back 16 Ohm
speaker
s - High performance warning
The
Celestion Red Back 16 Ohm
guitar speaker
has a higher frequency response than older guitar speakers. For that reason, you may hear high pitched sounds in your amp or elsewhere in your tone chain that older guitar speakers will not pick up on. Therefore, before purchasing, you might want to have your rig looked at, repaired, or serviced to ensure this type of compatibility.
Celestion Red Back 8 Ohm
speaker
s - History
The
Celestion Red Back 16 Ohm
guitar speaker
is revolutionizing the
new vintage
guitar speaker
corner of the guitar speaker world. The
Celestion Red Back 16 Ohm
guitar speaker
is similar to the "second generation" Creamback, the G12H-75 Creamback (75W): It has the heavy magnet, but far more wattage. I would call the Redback 3rd generation.
Celestion Red Back 8 Ohm
speaker
s - One speaker instead of 4!
The
Celestion Red Back 16 Ohm
guitar speaker
offers so
much more power handling (150W) that you may not even need a cabinet. Just put one of these in your head cabinet. Lighten your load, and play it loud! That is the revolution in
new vintage
guitar speaker
s that I am talking about. This is huge for us.

s - Power & Vintage Tone
The
Celestion Red Back 8 Ohm
guitar speaker
has the maximum power handling without compromising classic vintage tone. Boasting a whopping 150-watts, the
Celestion Red Back 8 Ohm
guitar speaker
is constructed with:
a supersized 2-inch voice coil
heaviest G12 magnet
somehow it is not any heavier than 2nd generation (Creambacks)
The result is a guitar speaker that produces classic
new vintage
Celestion tone, yet can be connected safely to a 100-watt head (amplifier) all by itself. With the
Celestion Red Back 8 Ohm
guitar speaker
, you no longer need to choose between power and tone.
tight, well-controlled low end
detailed midrange
more relaxed treble
Thinking of downsizing your cabinet? Imagine 100 watts coming out of one speaker instead of 4. That should be easier on your back, and take up less space in your vehicle than a 4x12
guitar speaker
cabinet.

Celestion boasts the following at
https://celestion.com/product/194/G12H_150_Redback/
The G12H-150 Redback has been created for players who are looking for extreme power handling but refuse to compromise on great tone. Rated at a gargantuan 150-watts, the Redback is constructed with a supersized 2-inch voice coil and features the heaviest G12 magnet. The result is a guitar speaker that sounds 100% Celestion in character, yet is primed to withstand a pummelling from a 100-watt head all by itself, and still come back for more. The Redback proves that you no longer need to choose between power and tone. With a tight, well-controlled low end, detailed midrange and more relaxed treble, Celestion’s engineering expertise has produced a truly high power guitar speaker that can still deliver balance, responsiveness and superb playability, with muscular ease. With lower power combos, expect tons of smooth, clean tone and don’t be afraid to plug in your favourite stomp box. Thinking of downsizing your cabinet? Simply hook up a single Redback to your 100-watt head and generate giant slabs of frightening, monstrous tone.

Guitar Tone
Guitar Tone Samples
Our aim is to ensure that the tone of our guitar speakers CAN match the tone expected by the guitar community. Jensen provides guitar tone samples for you to listen to before you purchase. Celestion is also now beginning to provide such guitar tone samples on their website as well. However, Celestion speakers are already famous for their tone. Typically, you begin your hunt for guitar tone samples on any guitar speaker's specifications page (see link above).
Guitar Tone Skills
Any buyer who does not already know this product takes responsibility for: Finding, sampling, and recreating the tone they seek. This vintage guitar speaker is one of many important building blocks of your guitar tone: Including your (1) guitar playing ability, (2) your amp, (3) your guitar etc. This guitar speaker should give you the analog space that you need to let your true guitar tone shine. It will not make you play as well as the guitarists performing the guitar tone samples. Seriously, no bad feedback, returns, or issues in eBay over tone issues.
Electric Guitar Tone
Celestion's website provides information on how to break in a guitar speaker. This should be done before using any guitar speaker. This ensures that the speaker provides true tone and proper function over time.
Talking Shop about Guitar Speaker Tone
Beyond all of these considerations, guitar speaker tone is also by nature a subjective criteria. Therefore we can make no promises in terms of communicating with you about it.
Due to these reasons and the liability constraints coming out of them, we cannot advise you about
guitar speaker tone
before
your purchase. We can only respond to factual inquiries about your purchase.
Sales/Support on eBay
Per eBay's preference, consider all communication related to this sale(s) done here in the eBay system. Therefore, we will consider you to have communicated with us if you have done so from within the eBay system. Please help us keep that communication as clear as possible to eBay staff.
